Detained Binance boss, Gambaryan absent from court due to ill health

The trial of detained Binance executive, Tigran Gambaryan, was stalled today October 18 due to his absence from court.

The officer from the Correctional Center told the court that he got in touch with his boss who said Gambaryan was very sick and cannot be produced in court.

Justice Emeka Nwite had fixed today October 11 for the continuation of trial in the alleged money laundering charge filed against Binance Ltd and its country representative, Gambaryan, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

 

At today’s proceeding, all the counsel to the parties were present in court except the 2nd defendant, Gambaryan.

On inquiry from the judge, counsel for both parties said they were surprised why Gambaryan was not in court.

 

Counsel to the accused however asked the court  to adjourn the matter following his client’s ill health.

 

Justice Emeka Nwite subsequently adjourned the matter to October 25 for a report about Gambaryan’s health.
