A man identified only as Daniel has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a sex worker to death in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.
According to Punch, Daniel stabbed the woman on the night of Friday, October 11, 2024, during an argument over her refusal to pay the agreed upon fee after engaging in sex at Apple Inn, a brothel. According to sources, the suspect, who is a regular customer at the brothel, justified his refusal to pay the agreed upon fee by claiming that the sex worker refused to ejaculate during the third round of the sex night.
The sex worker insisted on paying the total agreed upon amount and was tough on her, but the suspect supposedly picked up a knife from the sex worker's kitchen, stabbed her and pulled her down. The man was arrested by police officers following an emergency call from residents.The sources added that the victim, whose identity could not be confirmed at the time of writing this report, was in critical condition when she was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Agbor Police Station Commander, who confirmed the arrest, said a team of police officers from the station was deployed to the scene following a distress call. He revealed that on arrival, the victim was seen in a pool of blood and the suspect was nearly lynched by the angry mob. Reacting to the incident, the state police spokesman, SP Bright Edafe, said he had called the DPO at Agbor station, who promised to get back to him on the matter.
"I cannot confirm it now. I called the DPO in Agbor and he promised to get back to me but he did not," he said.
