“The Holy Spirit Told Me I Was Right” — Pastor David Ibiyeomie Defends His Recent Controversial Statement

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, has defended his controversial statement that “Jesus h+tes the p++r,” saying the Holy Spirit affirmed he was right.

His comment sparked backlash from both Christians and non-Christians, many of whom found the statement offensive. In response, Pastor Ibiyeomie recounted a personal encounter with the Holy Spirit.

“Out of curiosity I said Holy Spirit tell me if I’m wrong and I will never say I’m right when I’m wrong. He was dictating God’s word to me verbatim in the bathroom. He said ‘you are not wrong, you are right.’ I said ‘how’? He said listen, and he began to bring out scriptures.

He said I became sin for humanity, true? I said yes. He said you became sin. He said do you like sin? I said no. He said Christians hate sin? I said yes. He said can you be a friend to a sinner? He said no. He said you can only lead people to Christ but you cannot be a friend to a sinner.

Is that not true? I said yes. He quoted Bible scriptures to me and he said don’t sit in the counsel of the ungodly,” Ibiyeomie explained.

He added that the Holy Spirit drew a parallel between associating with sinners and the p++r, saying, “He said so also when a believer mixes with the p++r people should be angry. He said I was made p++r that you might be rich so p+v£rty is not of me.

He said you can help the p++r but not associate with them because if you do that you are saying my d+ath and resurrection is in vain."
The pastor’s remarks have continued to stir debate, with many questioning the interpretation and theological basis of his claims.
